On Thursday 12 December 2024, the first preparatory meeting for the first Economic and Socio-cultural Forum on African soil was held in Dakar at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment for Africa Russsia & Eurasia (CCI for Africa Russsia & Eurasia).
The meeting, of great strategic importance for relations between Africa, Russia and Eurasia, was attended by H.E.M Dimitry Kourakov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Senegal, Mr Lamine BA, Deputy Director General of Apix and Mr Karim Harati Sarr, President of the Chamber of Commerce. On this occasion, 15 nations were represented.
Very fruitful exchanges on the economic and geostrategic issues between Africa, Russia and Eurasia demonstrated the importance of this timely initiative.
This first meeting will pave the way for the first Economic and Socio-Cultural Forum, to be held in Dakar on 10, 11 and 12 April 2025 in Diamniadio (Senegal). All the representatives of the Diplomatic Corps undertook to implement all the appropriate measures for the preparation of this major economic and socio-cultural event, a first in Africa.

The Dakar 2025 Forum is intended to be Africa's response to the Davos Forum, bringing together all the economic powers, leaders and companies in Africa, Russia and the rest of Europe that are concerned about the future of Africa. Further preparatory meetings are planned to evaluate the guidelines laid down at this first meeting.
